Even the dimensions, light-filled architecture and ecological construction are impressive. Since it was completed and opened in 2014, the OVAVERVA has blended harmoniously into the landscape as another landmark for St. Moritz. The architectural firms responsible, Morger + Dettli Architekten, Basel, and Bearth & Deplazes Architekten, Zurich/Chur, designed the OVAVERVA as a striking centre which, on four levels, combines an ecological construction with an environmentally friendly operation. In the pool complex, the generous glass fronts create flowing transitions to the expanse of the high valley of the Upper Engadine and create a bright and inviting atmosphere inside. In the outdoor pool with its bubble loungers and terrace, views extending to the Maloja Pass open up to pool visitors. “Hidden” in the roof of the building is the spa - an intimate, peaceful and generously designed inner world. Spa visitors are protected from outside gazes, but enjoy soothing views out to the Engadine mountains and countryside. In the centre is the communal space, which is flooded with daylight and sunlight by the skylight of the central staircase.
